Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa tees up six-month golf promo

HUA HIN, Thailand (Oct. 13, 2011) — As temperatures dip with the oncoming of winter in the Northern Hemisphere, and preparations for bushfire season begin Down Under, one resort in comfortably tropical Thailand is giving golfers reason to break out their travel bags.

Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa has teamed with six golf courses in this historic resort town, two hours’ drive from Bangkok, on a package that’s not only dynamic, it’s affordable, with per night, stay-and-play rates starting at THB 4,900 (about USD 160).

“Weather-wise, the next few months form the best time to visit Hua Hin,” said Ms. Naowarat Arunkong, general manager of Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa. “It’s nice and cool comparative to the rest of the year, and rain is much less common. In other words, it’s the perfect time to golf.”

To be eligible for the seasonal special, guests must book at least two nights at the seaside hotel before April 2012.

Those who do are given the keys to a Deluxe Garden View Room, daily breakfast and one round of golf inclusive of caddie fee, greens fee and roundtrip transfer to any of the following courses:

- Black Mountain Golf Club, an Asian Tour venue in 2009 and 2010 for its array of natural hazards and hilly terrain.

- Imperial Lake View Golf Club, a 36-hole complex characterized by four distinctly different nines — mountain, lake, desert and links.

- Majestic Creek Country Club, set in the mountains just west of Hua Hin and home of the longest par 5 (770 yards) in the country.

- Palm Hills Golf Resort & Country Club, the first international standard golf course in Hua Hin when opened in 1992.

- Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, which debuted in 1924, making it the oldest layout in all of Thailand.

- Springfield Golf Club, which boasts 18 holes designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and another nine crafted by the lauded combo of Schmidt-Curley.

Located next to the palace of a princess, Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa is one of the most venerable properties in a region that became popular among Thai sovereigns in 1921, when a railway station and hotel were erected to service elite train travelers between Bangkok and Singapore.

Today, Hua Hin is the full-time residence of the world’s longest serving monarch — His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej — and a haven for golfers, water sports mavens, spa goers and wine enthusiasts.
